Story & Experience

Wanted to let you know that we chose an area in Wyman Park that is particularly polluted. The stream that runs through the park (Stoney Run) is forced underground at this point before it re-emerges and joins the Jones Falls. With heavy rains the water backs up there; there is a large debris pile of trees, branches, garbage and other debris run-off. My understanding is that the water (when it is backed up) is heavily polluted secondary to Baltimore’s aging sewer system. The stream and banks are heavily silted. Lots of garbage. The water running still looks clear; every year I am struck by the sound of the stream which sings seemingly unconcerned about our worries and judgments. The Water Principle and the Earth Principle still prevail (or so the stream told me).
