Type of Wounded Place
Story & Experience
6 Wed Witches us gathered out in the garden. We had decided that our Zimbabwe could be seen as a wounded place. Our intention was to join you all but to bring the feminine back at a time when we are moving through a difficult period—the new elections and the potential threat of violence and rape that followed out last elections in 2008. We gathered together under the fig tree and quietly did the tai chi dance of the 4 directions—bringing in the elements and the space in-between. From this circle we quietly dispersed into the garden with baskets to gather earth gifts (leaves, flowers, sticks and stones) and brought them together at the fire circle and together we made the siren. The pictures tell it all. She was beautiful! When we thought she was complete, we sat in a circle around her and passed a talking piece with a question: ‘What is it we visualise bringing into ourselves and our wounded country as the sun returned?’
The answer was peace! and working with our own magic and bringing ourselves fully into whatever the next moment was about to bring. We felt strong and inspired and together. Thank you all—all over the world—for this tremendous act of caring for our broken places.
Gaia smiled—so did the Siren
