Story & Experience

We had an amazing time, so meaningful and a great council circle about our time on the land. There were six of us. I have lots more pictures of barnacles growing on coal, a bush growing out of an old post, barnacles growing on an old spike that looked like a mushroom. We saw lots of beauty in this wounded place and it was an amazing experience for all of us. My daughter did a facebook album telling the story and this was one of her reflections that she shared at our council circle.
“I found this bolt, which over time has been worn by the water & adorned with barnacles to look like a little mushroom. This has a lot of symbolism for me—it really illustrated the power nature has to soften and create beauty in even the most hardened or ‘lifeless’ things…or aspects of ourselves. I brought this home as a reminder of this important lesson.” It was so awesome to be part of this, thank you.
