Story & Experience

Ishwari

Yudhi Ishwari reports that their community made a RadJoy Bird in the rice fields, but there has been so much rain this year that it was flooded before they could take a photo. Bali’s rainy season traditionally lasted for about three months. In the past year, the rain has fallen almost every day and the rice, clove, and coffee fields are badly damaged. In place of a photo of the RadJoy Bird, Yudhi sent this photo of the traditional Balinese ceremony of Medaupan, held to thank the earth and the rice fields for their gifts.
