Story & Experience

To share a little about what we did . . .we worked with the intention and structure in a bit of a creative way. Our particular theme was “healing family wounds”—which arose for me out of being abused as a child and seeing my body as part of the earth. We used an earth-based ritual style including calling a circle and welcoming the elements of air, fire, water, and earth to join us, as well as inviting a deity or archetype to also be present. There were three of us and we each took turns naming aspects of each element we wished to join us, as well as each of us naming a deity/archetype. We each shared a wound we brought with us for healing and what it meant to us. We had some quiet time to be present and reflect on how we are today in relationship to that wound. Then we shared what’s true for us today in relationship to the wound. Then we created beauty and transformation by moving/dancing like birds, symbolizing freedom and release. We ended with sharing how that experience was, of moving like birds. Then of course thanked the elements, opened the circle, and ate simple snacks together. The Bunny Ears picture is from the mini-feast afterwards, lettuce sticking up out of a hill of veggies. The other picture is of me and one of the other participants afterwards. I forgot my RadJoy t-shirt from last year, but she remembered hers from this year! Thank you so much for holding space for all this good work to happen.
