Divining Water: Wetlands damaged by a boating shop

Story & Experience

I was honored to participate, and by taking the time to do so, stood transfixed upon the cusp of inconvenience and the sacred. How easy it is to go about one’s busy-ness, routine or obligations, and forget that such pathways mar the balance of earthliness. Although one other person joined me, after my ceremony, in visiting the site, he pointed out facets that I had not seen—the indifference of owner and workers dumping concrete and metal filings into other areas of the wetland!
Making a livelihood for oneself abuts, encroaches and all too often, erodes the very fabric that supports our basic need of clean air and water. And, with the EPA and OSHA suspect, this focused act of witness evolving earth-wide through Radical Joy reminds us of our intentions. I am sending you a picture of my mechanical bird arising from the rubble of a marina parking lot. Then she is shown nesting at an inland marina alongside her former wetlands.
