Clearing the Rail Yard

Story & Experience

Hollingsworth

Hawk inspired this image, as he appeared in the cemetery during my run earlier in the day. The dried rose petals are from my birthday. There were three, one for the faithful, gentle cat Buddy who was with me for 9 years, one for me, and one for Pure Love. Stones and wood are sourced from the rail yard. The contrast between hawk bone dry and washed interests me most. Bone dry, hawk stands out in stark contrast to surroundings, washed in pure water, hawk appears to melt into surroundings. There is also a “shadow” or other created by the water, a larger essence abounds.

My practice today has been honesty…to bare myself and speak my greatest fears. This prayer for Honesty and Integrity is seeded in hawk clearing the rail yard, which is officially a superfund site…home to massive diesel plumes just below the surface. Hawk medicine: Choose your priorities and eliminate all distractions.
