We gathered at solstice for the sunset of the Summer Solstice for community, dancing, and food. At dinner, we met with women from the Coat of Hopes (https://www.coatofhopes.uk/) who have been travelling around the UK with a coat of patches detailing people’s hope for the world beyond the climate crisis. When someone put it on, one of the women would sing about grief and hope for the world.

Why this Place?
Stonehenge, UK
It is a place of annual ritual around the solstice, a place where thousands gather from all over the world. Every solstice people have gathered for millenia, and this year we mourn where our world is.
Act of Beauty
It drew people from all over to come together and meet each other. The women also shared how the coat has travelled all over hearing stories of why people want to wear it and what they hope for. Only the coat knows all of the stories because it often times passes between people who travel with it.
