Faughart and Bridget

Story & Experience

Roisin and I visited the Hill of Faughart above Dundalk on the borders between the North and South of Ireland. Faughart is said to be the birthplace of the much-loved Celtic Goddess and Saint, Bridget. It is also a place of battles and an ancient route between the North and the South..
I am always drawn to Faughart. It is a high place with wonderful views. It felt right to visit and sit by Bridget’s Holy Well. I fixed the Radical Bird Flag onto the stone wall around the well and Roisin offered beautiful flowers. We shared our stories about Bridget and tidied around the well.
Then we walked along the banks of the River of her Healing waters nearby. I wished love and peace into the waters, intending their flow around and into the Earth.
May we find peace and Beauty in all our Wounded places.
