Event Inspiration

Poland is a country sadly dependent on coal. At the border of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic is the infamous Black Triangle – the most polluted area of Europe and the location of the controversial Turów Power Plant. Environmentalists struggle to convince the Polish government to turn the country away from its dependence on coal. In 2014 thousands formed a human chain across the borders to protest the deadly brown coal open pit mine. I’ll perform a ritual of healing for this wounded place – a contentious site – better than how it was but a continual marker of the need for urgent change at the heart of Europe.
